Air Force Administrative College Recognised for ISO 21001:2018 Certification Journey

The Air Force Administrative College (AFAC), Red Fields, Coimbatore, successfully completed its ISO 21001:2018 certification assessment with SIS Certifications, covering both Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits.

The certification assessment provided an opportunity to evaluate the college’s educational and training processes against the requirements of ISO 21001:2018 and identify opportunities for continual improvement.

Recognition of a Professional Audit Experience

Following the assessment, Air Cmde Vikas Wahi VSM, Commandant, AFAC, issued a formal Letter of Acknowledgement dated 10 September 2024, recognising the professionalism, expertise, dedication, and systematic approach demonstrated by the SIS Certifications audit team.

The acknowledgement reflects the importance of a well-planned and professionally conducted certification assessment, particularly within a specialised training and educational environment.

Focus on improvement

A key aspect highlighted in the acknowledgement was the auditors’ ability to understand and navigate AFAC’s complex training environment.

Rather than limiting the assessment to a checklist-based evaluation, the audit team demonstrated the knowledge and insight needed to assess the organisation’s processes in context. This helped identify areas where systems and practices could be further strengthened.

The assessment was also recognised as collaborative and constructive, reinforcing the value of an audit approach that combines objective evaluation with practical insight.
