A management system standard written for events. It covers how an organiser, venue or supplier identifies the issues an event creates, sets objectives, controls its supply chain and measures what actually happened afterwards.
This one is certifiable: an accredited certification body audits the event management system and issues the certificate. SIS audits and certifies, and cannot implement the system it then audits.

What ISO 20121 Actually Requires
The backbone an implementer has to build, in the order it usually gets built.
Define which events, venues and activities the system covers, and where your control ends and the client’s or contractor’s begins.
Adopt the principles of sustainable development the standard requires, including stewardship and transparency, and turn them into a policy that binds staff and contractors.
Identify and evaluate the sustainability issues each event type raises, and record what neighbours, clients, authorities, crew and attendees expect of you.
Set measurable objectives with owners and deadlines: waste diversion rates, energy sourcing, local hiring, accessible provision, and how each will be evidenced.
Build sustainability requirements into contracts and briefings for caterers, stage builders, cleaners and transport, then check on site that they were followed.
Collect real figures during and after the event, review them against the objectives, and record the legacy left behind or the harm avoided.
