SIS Certifications Awarded ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Certificates to TATA
Congratulations to TATA for successfully achieving IAS-accredited ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications for their Express Freight Consortium WDFCCIL CTP-13 Project. With this accomplishment, this project has manifested assurance towards Environmental Management System and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
The scope of this project involves the design and construction of the civil, building, and track works for double line railway involving formation in embankments/cuttings, bridges, structures, buildings, ballast on the formation and track works. It also includes testing and commissioning on design-build lump sum price basis for Sachin- Vadodara section of western dedicated freight corridor (Phase-2).
On one hand, with ISO 14001 certification, the project ensures a positive interaction with the environment. This will bring confidence among the community that the freight project does not alter the local environment. ISO 14001 is proof of compliance with all the environment-related regulations. On the other hand, ISO 45001 certification ensures a safe working environment so that the risks of work-related injuries or sickness can be eliminated. One of the expert auditors of the certification body, Mr. Praveen Kumar recalls the certification experience as, “smooth, cooperative, and extremely professional”. He says, “Performing the audit of such a big project was a bit complicated, given the complexity of processes. However, with mutual cooperation, we could get the job done in stipulated time.”
There are various other ISO standards that can be applied to the project for its enhanced credibility. These include ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 50001 for energy management, and so on.
SIS Certifications, which certified the Express Freight Consortium WDFCCIL CTP-13 Project is accredited by both International Accreditation Services (IAS-IAF) and International Organization for Accreditation Services (IOAS).
